Flex: scan a series

About this task

Use these steps to acquire a scan with the Flex Imaging Option to obtain multiple echoes resulting in water suppressed, fat suppressed, fat and water in-phase, and fat and water out-of-phase processed images. Typically use Flex to acquire brain, spine, breast, liver, shoulder or knee images.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. From the Workflow Manager, click the Flex series.
  2. From the Workflow Manager Task Manager panel, click Setup.
  3. Adjust the scan parameters, as needed.
    • Click the Dixon tab and select the desired Dixon image reconstruction options (in-phase, out-of-phase).
    • Depending on the scan mode, some of the selections may not be de-selected.
  4. From Graphic Rx, deposit and position a 2D set of slices or a 3D volume based on the selected scan mode.
  5. Deposit SAT pulses, as needed.
  6. Click Save Rx > Scan.
  7. Display Flex images.
    • Once the last water image is displayed in Autoview, the reconstruction of the series is completed.
