Fast Recovery

About this task

The Fast Recovery Imaging Option in is designed to enhance the intensity of fluids that have long T1 and T2 relaxation times, while using a shortened TR time. The shortened TR time makes the high resolution images practical. SNR is improved using FRFSE in comparison to FSE.

Use 2D FRFSE for:

  • PD- and T2-weighted acquisitions of the spine
  • abdominal breath hold images and head and joint images

Use 3D FRFSE for:

  • other T2 applications, such as spine and IAC imaging.
  • heavily T2-weighted images, such as MRCPs or myelograms with the MRCP Imaging Option. The reduced imaging times allow for breath hold acquisitions or free breathing techniques acquired with the Respiratory Gating/Triggering Imaging Option.
