T2 FLAIR
A T2 FLAIR pulse sequence acquires an interleaved technique and nulls the CSF signal while maintaining T2 contrast. The TI time is the primary driver for the image contrast. The TI value is set to the time it takes the CSF tissue or structure to relax to the null point, approximately 2000 to 2300 ms.
Use T2 FLAIR with the following PSDs :
- Scan selections: 2D Mode, FSE-XL pulse, T2 FLAIR Imaging Option.
- T2 FLAIR results in bright signal suppressed from CSF on T2-weighted image structures adjacent to fluid filled structures, therefore becoming more apparent.
- PROPELLER T2 FLAIR imaging provides robust T2-weighted imaging with CSF suppression. When CSF is suppressed, you get better visualization of gray and white matter.
- PROPELLER Brain T2 FLAIR reduces patient motion artifact compared to traditional T2 FLAIR with comparable scan time.
