Prep Pulse

Use Prep Pulse to control a non-selective saturation pulse for myocardial suppression. It is available with SPGR/FGRE and FIESTA time course protocols. Prep Plus allows multi-planar prescription (short and long axis) scanning.

To use Prep Pulse, you must select either the SPGR/FGRE or FIESTA time course protocol from the GE protocol library.

  • Prep Pulse/Legacy (1, default) suppresses the MR signal in the imaging volume. This is the legacy non-selective saturation recovery pulse.
  • Enhanced (2) uniformly suppresses the MR signal in the imaging volume and does not lose slice coverage. This is the enhanced non-selective saturation recovery pulse.
  1. Go to Scan Parameters > Advanced.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Keep option 1 to use the legacy option.
    • Change the value of Prep Pulse from 1 to 2 to use the Enhanced option.
  3. Do the scan.

The system puts the images in the image database.

  4. Export the images for post-processing, as desired.
