Maximum Number of Slices Optimization

Use Maximum Number of Slices Optimization with Gradient Echo EPI and Spin Echo EPI acquisitions with Ramp Sampling. It is designed to increase the number of slices per acquisition. It is compatible with wide bore systems. Typically turn on the User CV with matrix values = 128 x 128 when the maximum number of slices are desired within a given TR.

• Max # Slices Optimization = 0 is the default value. It turns off the User CV.
• Max # Slices Optimization = 1 turns on the User CV and increases the number of slices per acquisition at the expense of increased echo space and thus increased geometric distortion.
