Use these steps to erase patient identifiable information to help manage data privacy requirements (for example: HIPAA, Data Protection Act UK, PIPEDA Canada, European Union Data Protection Directive, etc.).
Important: All protocols exported should not have patient identifiable information on any images that are included in the protocol notes.
Step-by-step instructions
Click the Protocol Notes tab in the lower-right corner of the monitor to open the Protocol Notes screen.
Click and drag the image to activate it. It is active when the image has a blue outline.

From the Protocol Note tool bar, click the .
From the Picture Viewer window, click and drag over the area of interest you want to paint over. Each time you click and drag the cursor you identify a new area to paint over.
Select a color from the color pull-down menu. The selected color is displayed in the selection field.

The menu only displays a set number of colors. If you prefer a color not displayed in the menu, click More Colors... Select a new color from the Colors window and click OK. The new color is added to the color pull-down menu. Figure 3. Colors window
Click the and the selected color paints the content in the selection box.
Click Save to save the image with the painted area and to close the Picture Viewer window.
