Link/unlink series

Before you begin

When comparing several exams or series, the series are automatically linked by the cursor location and are synchronized or registered as you scroll through all series simultaneously.

About this task

Use these steps to unlink series (i.e. each series will be unlinked from other series).

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the Volume Viewer.
  2. To control the link/unlink feature from the Visualization toolbar, follow these steps.
    1. From the Viewports Preference screen, verify that Link/Unlink viewports between series (Not applicable for PET) is selected.

    2. The Link/Unlink icon () becomes available.
    3. Toggle the Link/Unlink icon to turn on/off the link status.
  3. Place the cursor on any of the linked viewports. From the Review Controller, click and drag the Scroll bar.
    • All linked viewports change to the same location or in the same range of locations . As you change location they all simultaneously change.
    • The keyboard Page Up and Page Down keys can also be used to scroll through the volumes.
  4. To independently adjust the location of each viewport, follow these steps.
    1. Double-click the desired viewport to make it active and adjust the slice location.
    2. Alternatively, if you have selected Link/Unlink viewports between series (Not applicable for PET) from the Viewports Preference screen, then you can toggle the Link/Unlink icon () to the off state.
    3. To realign all the viewports to the new location, click each viewport and the slice location changes automatically.
