T1 Map

The READY View T1 Map protocol post processes data sets acquired using one of the one-click Applications: T1MAP - FIESTA or T1MAP - SPGR. The T1 Map acquisition is displayed in READY View, where the T1 relaxation time color map is coded to capture T1 values from multiple inversions times.

Algorithms

The signal obtained from the T1 decay is described by the following relationship:

y = A – B exp(-TI/T1) where:

  • y = signal intensity
  • A = offset of pixel intensity
  • B = scaling parameter
  • TI = Inversion Time (from acquisition)
  • T1 = T1 relaxation time

The T1 Map algorithm performs a non-linear least squares 3-parameter fitting of the signal intensity plotted against TI.

Constraints:

  • The T1 Map algorithm is constrained to not work with acquisitions having less than 3 time points.

Additionally, an R-Squared_1000 map is generated and should be used only as a quality check for the non-linear fitting. It does not provide any diagnostic value to the user.

T1 Map measurement units

The T1 Map functional maps have the following units of measurement.
