DTI Optional procedure

About this task

To change DTI settings, make a selection from the desired DTI screens.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. From the DTI screen, click and drag the left threshold slider until the brain is outlined in green and all the anatomy inside the image displays green lines.
    Note: that Compute does not update the threshold. As the upper or lower slider is moved or a value entered in the text box, the threshold automatically updates.

  2. If needed, from the DTI screen, click the preprocessing arrow and click EPI correction. Note that it is not necessary to click Compute.
    For details, see EPI correction/ Motion correction.
  3. From the DTI screen, click the Clip Min & Max values arrow to modify the minimum and maximum values for a selected parametric image.
    1. Select the desired map from the menu.
    2. Adjust the sliders to the desired range of values for the selected map.
    3. Click Shared Segmentation to propagate the segmentation to all other maps.
  4. From the DTI screen title bar, click the Advanced Tools icon.
  5. From the DTI screen, click the DTI - Advanced Settings arrow to change the Anisotropy weighting or Kernel Spatial Smoothing.
    • As the kernel size increases, voxel averaging occurs and the image maps appear smoother. The Kernel spatial smoothing default value is 0.
    • Anisotropy Weight adjusts the weighting applied to FA1 values to generate the Colored Orientation views. To view the color orientation view, from a viewport, click the map yellow annotation and select Colored orientation.
      1. Change the desired settings.
      2. Click Compute to generate maps with the new settings.
        • Reset changes the selections to the factory default values.
        • Save All saves your selections as the new default values
  6. From the DTI screen, click the DTI - Final Settings arrow to review the settings. If you want to change any of the settings, follow these steps.
    1. Click the appropriate selection from the DTI screen.
    2. Click Compute to generate updated maps.
  7. Optional: select any of the review steps, for example, see FiberTrak workflow.
  8. To exit READY View, click the Exit icon.
