fMRI scan protocol considerations

A typical fMRI protocol uses an EPI pulse sequence: GRE or asymmetrical SE.

The resultant fMRI activation maps can be affected by any change to the protocol. For consistent baseline data, keep the protocols consistent so that the maps are consistent from patient-to-patient.

Consider these tradeoffs as you change scan parameters for images that are post-processed with the fMRI protocol.
